The neighborhood of Ribeira plays an important role in Natal’s history. Considered the second neighborhood of the city, Ribeira peaked when the americans installed their military base in Natal in the World War II. The neighborhood, once known by its bohemian athmosphere and lively culture, is now denegrated and abandoned.
The masterplan for its revitalization includes the creation of urban nodes that activate the surrounding with housing, retail, commercial spaces, and and cultural activities. The project aims to promote equitability and sustainability by repurposing historic structures.
